Journal Prompt: Is Your Time Going to the Right Place?
Happy Monday here is this week’s prompt:
Does my schedule reflect what I value and want in my life? If not, how can I begin to make changes to ensure I spend time on my priorities?
We often get overwhelmed with daily life and simply run from task to task. Then we look back and wonder why we didn’t get done what we wanted.
Or worse, we end up regretting the things we didn’t do.
So, this week let’s take some time to make sure what we value and want is showing up in our day.

Start by creating a list of your values. Try and narrow it down to five or less, too many and we don’t focus on the important ones.
Then create a list of your goals. After this, do a quick check that your values and goals are in line with each other.
Now look at your schedule. Are you doing things that align with your values and goals? If not then come up with a plan to change that.
If you aren’t sure where your time goes and your calendar isn’t helping you, do a time inventory first. For one week write down what you are doing during the day. Depending on how detailed you want to be you can break it down into 15-minute blocks. At a minimum track it by the hour.
You can do this on your phone’s notes section, on a piece of paper or use a software that lets you track it – and does all the calculations for you. I use Clockify because the basic plan is free and it’s perfect for one person.
After the week sum up how much time was spent on each activity. Then compare what you did to your values and goals.
Have a great week,
Andrea
P.S. Stuck on what your value and goals are? I have a workbook that will walk you through figuring these out. It’s a PDF download so you can print it and use it over and over again! I do it at least once a year. Get yours today!
