End-of-Life Doula

End-of-life care for the whole family.

Helping families navigate decisions, explore emotions and spiritual beliefs, and support their loved ones

Death has a way of making us face many fears and emotions that have lain dormant for decades.

It calls to the front an exploration of what you believe. For both the one dying and their loved ones.

It can change how loved ones left behind live.

It can bring together families that are apart.

And this process doesn’t start with the actual physical death.

Image of a woman giving a hug as support to another woman who is crying. They are sitting in a room with a couch and table. The text is "end-of-life doula."

It can start years before as you watch your parents age. Or at the diagnosis of a disease. It can even be triggered by hearing a story of tragedy.

However you are called to this contemplation of life and the beyond, there is a gentle and safe way to explore these ideas and feelings.

How I Can Help You Face Death

Using my coaching training, my death doula training, and my training in shamanic healing and death traditions I can help you explore all beliefs from a non-judgmental place.

I don’t force any of my ideas on you but instead help you explore yours. My training helps me ask you questions that will help you understand yourself better and at the same time I can share perspectives from other traditions and cultures that may help you bring your own ideas to life.

I lead with questions, unconditional love and serve as a friendly ear when you need it.

In addition to the spiritual side, I can be a sounding board for the practical life aspects of caregiving, end of life finance considerations and more. The last thing you need is to worry if your financial professional is giving you good advice. I can help you talk through the advice you are getting to make a decision that is right for you.

I blend my spiritual training with my finance training to ensure all your needs, concerns and worries are met with care.

A Bridge Between the Practical and the Sacred

For much of my life, I lived in a world of “black and white” answers. With an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Creighton University, my career was built in corporate banking, investments, and financial budgeting. I understood the numbers, but I eventually realized that life—and death—requires more than a spreadsheet.

My own journey through burnout and personal growth led me to the spiritual traditions that now form the heart of my work. Today, I blend my logical, grounded background with deep spiritual training to help families navigate the end-of-life transition with both practical clarity and emotional peace.

I am here to be a calm, non-judgmental presence—whether you need a sounding board for complex financial considerations or a sacred space for spiritual exploration.

My Professional Training:

  • End-of-Life Doula Certificate – University of Vermont
  • MBA & BA in Finance – Creighton University / University of Iowa
  • Coaching Certificate – International Coach Academy (2009)
  • Reiki Master & Meditation Teacher
  • Shamanic & Energy Healing – Including Compassionate Depossession and Curse Unraveling (trained with Betsy Bergstrom), Mediumship, and Shamanic Journeying
  • Past Life Regression Therapist – American Hypnosis Association

FAQ – Death Doula Services

What exactly is a Death Doula?

Much like a birth doula supports the beginning of life, a death doula provides non-medical holistic support (emotional, spiritual, and practical) for the end of life. There are many different ways that a death doula can support you. Some offer organizing services, such as coordinating visitors, managing meals, or contacting loved ones. Other services can include sitting with a loved one (vigil services), non-medical caregiver services and grief support.

My personal services focus on helping you and your family navigate the transition with more peace and less overwhelm. From a spiritual and grief perspective.

Do you replace hospice or medical care?

No. While I can work alongside hospice, palliative care teams, and medical professionals. While they focus on the physical and medical needs, I focus on the emotional, spiritual, and logistical needs of the dying and their family.

When is the “right” time to hire a doula?

There is no wrong time. Some families reach out at the moment of a terminal diagnosis, while others seek support years in advance as they begin the “aging in place” process or start their legacy planning. Because I focus on spiritual beliefs and the emotional side of transition, we can work together at any stage —including after the death of a loved one.

Do I have to be religious or “spiritual” to work with you?

Not at all. My goal is to help you explore your beliefs, whatever they may be. Whether you are deeply religious, spiritual but not religious, or an atheist, I provide a non-judgmental space to process your own perspective on life and death. Both death doula training and coaching training are focused on supporting you to find your own truth – not mine.

How does the financial piece work? Are you a financial advisor?

I am not a licensed financial advisor or CPA; however, I use my extensive financial background to help you organize your thoughts and process the professional advice you have recieved. With an undergraduate degree and an MBA in Finance, my experience spans banking, corporate finance, and individual wealth planning. I have been featured in Forbes, Investopedia, and GoBankingRates, and I use that expertise to act as a ‘translator’ so you can make empowered decisions without the fog of grief.

How does “Asynchronous Support” actually work?

We use a dedicated messaging platform (Clarityflow) where you can send me voice notes, videos or texts the moment a thought or worry hits you. I check these messages on our agreed-upon days and provide responses you can listen to whenever you have a quiet moment. You can learn more about it here: Asynchronous Coaching & Mentorship

And don’t worry about Clarityflow being hard to use. It is available as an app on your phone or as a website accessible from any device. I send you a link to join, you accept the invitation and we are up and running. I can guide you through issues and their customer service is fantastic.

Do you help more than one family member at a time?

I typically do not facilitate family decisions or do group work. I recommend that you work with a therapist trained to handle difficult end-of-life family dynamics for this.

Will you come to the bedside of our loved one?

I do not offer on-call, in-person vigil services. However, if you would like to schedule an in-person session for a loved one who wishes to talk, I am available in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Please book a consultation to discuss specifics; travel fees may apply depending on location
