Journal Prompt Series: Get Back on Track

This week’s journal prompts are a series that will help you explore how to move forward and recreate your life when we are in transition or feel like we are off track from what we desire.

We are going to approach this from two perspectives. First, seeing the big picture. Second, using our inner wisdom.

Because this is a multi-stage prompt series, I recommend you do one section each day. Then circle back to the ones you want to explore more after the first 3 days.

Seeing the Big Picture

When we are in the daily grind it is hard to see the big picture. So, we lose sight of where we are going and what pieces we might be missing. To journal for this ask yourself:

If I step back, where do I feel like I am struggling?

Then take what you get and ask yourself – If I zoomed out and saw this as part of a bigger picture, what would I notice?

You can imagine this as if you are stepping outside and watching/seeing yourself. Or you can look at it like someone else is seeing your situation.

You can also ask yourself: if this was my friend’s problem what would I tell them?

If this is difficult to journal, I have a meditation that will help you see things from afar by relaxing to open to your subconscious and having your spirit guides show you what you need to see.

Inner Wisdom

We all have wisdom we have gathered through the years. Yet, we often don’t take the time to tap in and draw upon it. This one can be harder to journal on, because our minds are often going 100 MPH and accessing your wisdom in this state is hard.

So, you may find it beneficial to first do a short calming meditation.

Then ask yourself:

If I fully trusted myself, what would I do next?

What do I know deep down but have been afraid to admit?

Bring it Together

After you have done both of those sections, pull the information you got from each and ask yourself:

With this new information what one thing do I want to take action on?

Then create a plan to do that!
